Platform calibration kits enhance the board population process by fine-tuning accuracy and repeatability capabilities. While an 0805 chip may not require the same accuracy as a 4 mil bump CSP, inaccurate placements still create a set of common issues - decreased product yield, increased board rework, and increased product costs. Incorporating a calibration routine ensures accurate placements over time, thereby maximizing yield, minimizing rework and reducing costs.
