Description
Universal Instruments Genesis and AdVantis Platforms Solutions will be on display at Productronica (13th – 16th November), Hall A4, booth 460, including the Genesis GC-120Q - the industry’s fastest quad-gantry machine. Universal’s Genesis placement machines encompass placing 01005s for handheld and wearable electronics, automotive assembly using leading-edge package styles, and building large boards for networking, telecom, and military applications. All six pick-and-place solutions on the booth will highlight the flexible performance and low cost-of-ownership of the Genesis and AdVantis platform placement machines.

Genesis GC-120Q, the fastest quad-gantry machine in the industry, with placement speeds of up to 120,000 cph will be assembling an advanced cellphone design on the booth. The 01005 demonstration will highlight the speed of the GC-120Q for high-volume assembly of standard products. Flexibility, speed and lowest cost-of-ownership are achieved with four patented Lightning Heads, each featuring a radial array of 30 modular, individually controlled spindles. The unique rotary motor drive is based on Universal’s patented VRM (Variable Reluctance linear Motor) technology and features fewer parts, improved reliability and delivers exceptional motion performance. Dual on-the-head optics allow an unsurpassed range of components from 01005 to 30mmx30mm, CSP, WSP, uBGA and Melfs at full speed and support component pre-orientation as well as on-the-head rejection for small parts to further enhance throughput and productivity.

The recently introduced platform configurations have greatly improved the range of capabilities of the Genesis portfolio, now able to excel in production environments ranging from NPI and high through low-mix at all volumes with the largest board size capability in its class.

A further highlight on the stand will be the unveiling of the new partnership with Valor Computerized Systems Ltd. that delivers a new, best-in-class NPI solution for UIC assembly machine users, based on Valor’s vPlan production planning tool.

The new product, titled “Dimensions Data Prep Studio”, will integrate with UIC’s Dimensions Programming and Optimization software (DPO) to provide advanced process preparation capabilities including comprehensive CAD/CAM translation, advanced Gerber support and the ability to view and verify results on a graphical representation of the board.

Powered by Valor’s world-renowned technology, “Dimensions Data Prep Studio” will provide users with high performance and superior usability through easy-to-follow workflows.
